10 hours

Easy

Discover the Terracotta Army, Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang, Huaqing Palace, and Datang Everbright City on a private tour from Xi'an.

Start your day with a private car pickup from your hotel and head to the Terracotta Army, about a 1-hour drive from downtown Xi'an. Discover one of the world's most renowned archaeological discoveries, standing guard over the soul of Qin Shi Huang, China's first unifier, for more than 2,000 years.

Explore Pit 1, the largest pit, covering an area of 14,260 square meters and housing over 6,000 life-size warriors. Each warrior has a unique facial expression and hairstyle, showcasing the superb craftsmanship of the Qin Dynasty. In 2023, 220 restored figures were unveiled here, along with lacquer shields and war drums. These relics not only have high artistic value but also provide important clues for studying the military attire and equipment of the Qin army.

Next, head to Pit 2, which presents the formation of elite troops, including crossbowmen, cavalry, and chariot units arranged in a combat-ready manner, vividly reproducing the powerful military strength of the Qin Dynasty. A major discovery in 2024 was a "General Figure" wearing a pheasant-feather crown, which is the highest-ranking officer figure unearthed so far. Its exquisite clothing and imposing manner offer a glimpse into the military hierarchy and etiquette of that time.

Finally, visit Pit 3, regarded as the ancient command center. With ritual bronze weapons and a 4-horse ceremonial chariot unearthed here, the layout and relics suggest that it was the command hub of the underground army, coordinating the actions of the other pits.

In the afternoon, visit the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang. This massive tomb complex covers an area of 56 square kilometers, larger than Manhattan, and is surrounded by legends of mercury rivers flowing within. The Bronze Chariot Museum here is a must-visit. The 2,200-year-old bronze carriages inlaid with gold and silver, known as the "Crown of Bronze Art," are exquisite in craftsmanship. Every detail, from the wheels to the decorations, reflects the advanced metalworking technology of the Qin Dynasty.

In the evening, proceed to Huaqing Palace, a famous imperial hot spring resort of the Tang Dynasty. The Haitang Pool is the private bathing place of Yang Guifei, with a marble lotus base that is exquisitely carved, allowing people to imagine the luxurious life of the Tang imperial court. The Lotus Pool is the thermal spring used by Emperor Xuanzong. In addition, the relics of the Xi'an Incident are also here, including the bullet holes in Chiang Kai-shek's office and his hideout cave, which are silent witnesses to an important event that changed modern Chinese history.

Finally, arrive at Datang Everbright City for an immersive Tang Dynasty night experience. Street performers dress up as the "levitating poet Li Bai" to recite poems and exchange verses, and the gilded "stone man" guards seem to have stepped out of ancient murals.
