Day 1:

We will pick you from the hotel in Shangri-La City. Your journey from Shangri-La to Balagezong will take around 2 hours. Expect a picturesque ride through the Tibetan plateau, with breathtaking views of rolling hills and traditional villages. Bring your camera; the sight of expansive fields and distant mountains is a photographer's dream.

Leaving Shangri-La, the route first passes through the Lancang River Valley, where you can admire the river’s turquoise waters winding through lush forests and terraced fields, with distant mountains forming a layered backdrop. As you pass the Baima Snow Mountain which is more than 4000 metres above sea-level, you can see the magnificent snow-capped mountains and canyons along the Ancient Tea Horse Road.

Day 2:

Wake up early before sunrise for hotel pickup.

Arriving at the famous Feilai Temple, you can enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the Meili snow-capped mountains while waiting for sunrise.

Feilai Temple was originally built in 1614 during Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) with a history of 385 years. Covering 1500 square meters, it was built according to the mountain terrain with architecture at random discretion. The whole temple is consists of Zisun (Descendants) Hall, the Hall of God, Haichao (Sea Tide Hall), Liangxiang (Wing-rooms) Hall, Liang’er (Two Ears) Hall, and Sipei (Side) Hall. The temple is a combination of three religions- Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism.

Visitors are free to tour the scenic area of Feilai Temple, visit the temple architecture and learn about its history and religious culture. The murals and Buddha statues in the temple have high artistic value allowing visitors to have an in-depth understanding of Tibetan Buddhist culture. ​Take a stroll on some of the observation trails in the scenic area to enjoy the beauty of Meili Snow Mountain from different angles.
